What you need to know

How often should duckbill valves be replaced?

Most moms replace duckbill valves every 2 to 3 months with daily pumping, though heavier use may call for sooner. The clearest sign it's time is a drop in suction or a valve tip that looks stretched, cracked, or won't close all the way. When in doubt, a fresh valve is an easy fix.

Which breast pumps are these duckbill valves compatible with?

These duckbill valves are compatible with the Momcozy M5, M6, V1, V1 Pro, V2, and V2 Pro. They're made to match the fit and function of the original valves, so installation and performance feel familiar right out of the pack.

Is it normal to see a small gap between the duckbill lips?

Yes. The pump's suction closes the gap during use, so a small opening at rest is expected. If the gap stays wide after cleaning or doesn't close once you start pumping, the valve may be worn and ready to be replaced.

How is the Aaya duckbill valve different from the original?

We built ours with a thicker base for a more secure fit and a softer, more flexible tip to help keep suction strong. It's designed to feel familiar to install and use, just built to hold up a little better through regular, everyday pumping.

Care and Cleaning

Hand wash only. Do not use a dishwasher. Boil for 3 minutes before first use to sanitize, making sure the valve is fully submerged. After each session, detach the valve, wash with hot soapy water, and let it air dry as soon as possible to prevent mold. Never microwave dry.

Materials and Safety

Made from food-grade silicone and heat resistant up to 120°C / 250°F. BPA-free. Replace valves regularly or as soon as suction performance drops. Contains small parts and is a choking hazard; not intended for children under 3 years.

What are Duckbill Valves for

Duckbill valves play an important role in pumping. As your pump creates suction, the valve opens to allow milk to flow through, then closes to help prevent backflow. Over time, normal wear can affect how well this process works. Replacing worn valves can help support a smoother, more consistent pumping experience. Most moms find replacing every 2 to 3 months works well with daily pumping, sooner if you're pumping more often or notice suction starting to drop.
